Battery Percentage Indicator

Hi,

I purchased my dell inspiron 3521 i5 with 750 hdd about 4 months ago, and at that time, my battery indicator was fantastic.

AFter its complete charged, it used to show me battery indicator as 9.5 hrs but now it shows just 3 hrs 30 mins after completing 100% charge.

Any help/suggestion, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Nilesh,

All rechargeable batteries wear out with time and usage. As time and cumulative use increase, the performance will degrade. For the typical user, noticeable reduction in run time generally will be observed after 18 to 24 months. For a power user, reduction in run time generally may be experienced prior to 18 months.

Avoid repetitive and regular full discharges. Li-Ion batteries will lose less charge capacity when partially recharged. Recharging at a 10 to 20% charge level is recommended.

Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. The optimal charge level is 40% for prolonged storage. Storing the battery with a low charge will result in permanent damage or battery failure.
