Importing Sony Mini DV videos onto a Dell Inspiron 5520?

I used to use a firewire cable to transfer videos onto my old dell laptop.

After my laptop died, Dell confirmed that I can buy a firewire/ USB adpater to transfer my videos onto the Dell Inspiron 15R before I purchased it.

I may be looking in the wrong place but I cannot find this adapter (well one that works) anywhere and Startech advised that I would need an express card slot (whatever that is) which the DEll INspiron 15R 5520 does not appear to have?

PLease help as I'm desperate to load my videos onto the laptop.
