LATITUDE E3450

Hi

I got a brand new latitude E3450 with ubuntu pre-installed. However there is a very serious problem with this configuraton. A keystroke randomly gets stuck and the character is repeated unless i press another key. This hapens  5-6 times a day as far as i observed, this is becoming  very very annoying especially while writing a thesis or an article.

Spending some time googling i came across this  ubuntu forum thread. It appears exactly the same issue but for E7450 and has been solved with a bios update....

askubuntu.com/.../dell-latitude-e7450-repeating-keystrokes-issue

My BIOS version is :

>sudo dmidecode -t bios -q
BIOS Information
Vendor: Dell Inc.
Version: A03
Release Date: 11/27/2014
Address: 0xF0000
Runtime Size: 64 kB
ROM Size: 8192 kB
Characteristics ........

After all, I think 3450 has the same problem but remaind unfixed. Does anyone know if Dell is to release any update for this ? This is a very serious issue :(

Many thanks in advance

Cheers

Hi istins,

I would suggest you to install the latest A05 BIOS version on your system by using the link below.

Hi Ravi

A05 Bios  seems to solve the problem. No stuck keystrokes observed in couple of days.

Many thanks !
