Wireless Internet with no internet access

I have a Dell Inspiron 1764 about a month ago it started having internet problems. I have ruled out the problems being related to the actual internet service. I have excellent wifi signal and yet my laptop constantly connects and disconnects. The length of time varies. Some days I get to be on the net while others I dont at all. I have run diagnostics, downloaded darn near every update imaginable. I need ideas please

Easiest fix is to buy a $10 usb network adapter and disable the built in one which is only a G adapter. I added a N adapter to match my N router on my 1764 model and Internet was much better. Like this--

It could also be a problem with your router. If you still have just a G router, upgrade to an N. Or run the Network and Sharing Center Troubleshooter to test.
