Audio issue latitude 5420, solution
Hi,
If you have issue getting clean audio over USB or over the mini jack,
and/or have no microphone signal under Team, following this may solve the issue at your side (it does for me).
1. Download latest Realtek audio driver from Dell.
For now this is this version:
Realtek-High-Definition-Audio-Driver_PP6T5_WIN_6.0.9418.1_A18.EXE
882 MBytes
version 6.0.9418.1, A18
09 November 2022
2. Restart the PC as requested by the installer.
3. Go in the device manager under sound, video and game controllers
and right click over Intel smart sound Technology for USB audio
Restart the machine.
4. Under the sound settings, (sound control panel),
select the second tab recording,
click on microphone array (Realtek audio) and select properties
Go to the 3 rd tab levels
The microphone array must be less than 100% (at 100% there will be no microhpone), use 99 % for example.
Test under Team to see if mic is ok.
under settings/devices/ make a test call
as for the devices, using a mini jack on the side of the machine,
I have:
audio devices: Realtek audio
speaker: headphones Realtek(R) audio
microphone: microphone array (Realtek(R) audio).
If that works for you (or not), let me know
