can connect to lan devices by ethernet but not by wifi

Hi,

Just bought an inspiron 16 5620 with win11.

I have it set up on my home lan (arkadyan wifi router).  There is no problem accessing the internet.

I have 2 wifi ip cameras and my Samsung SCX-4729w wifi printer.  I cannot connect to any of these devices by wifi.  I can connect using an ethernet cable connected to the router.  All the other devices i have on my lan can connect to these devices.  the 5620 is the only new addition.  This applies to ping also.  can ping ip's on the internet, other ip's on my lan, just not the cameras or printer.

i have tried uninstall/install wifi adapter with Dell and Intel drivers.  i have compared settings from my win10 box to my win11 box; all the same.

Any thoughts out there as to what is wrong?

It sounds like the issue might be related to the firewall settings on your Windows 11 system. By default, Windows 11 may block some incoming network traffic, which could be why you are unable to connect to your cameras and printer.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  1. Check the firewall settings: Open the Windows Security app and select Firewall & network protection. Check the settings to make sure that incoming traffic is allowed for your camera and printer.

  2. Disable the firewall temporarily: Temporarily disabling the firewall on your Windows 11 system may help you determine if the firewall settings are the cause of the problem. To disable the firewall, go to Firewall & network protection, and select the option to turn off the firewall.

  3. Reset the network adapter: Open Device Manager, locate your network adapter, and select the option to uninstall the device. Restart your system, and Windows 11 will automatically reinstall the network adapter with the default settings.

4. Check the network discovery settings: Open the Windows Settings app, go to Network & Internet, and select the option to change advanced sharing options. Make sure that network discovery is turned on.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may want to contact Dell technical support for further assistance.
