I had a tech call with Crucial and they were able to confirm the compatibility issues with the Crucial DDR5 modules and the Optiplex 7000. They are working with Dell on a resolution, but no ETA they could give me. Just ordered some Kingston instead and we'll see if that works.

the Crucial DDR5-4800 16GB is too fast for the Dell 7000.
The following table lists the memory specifications of your OptiPlex 7000 Tower.
Four-DIMM slots
DDR5
128 GB
8 GB
8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB

Dell bios is picky about aftermarket ram not validated by Dell. it can work with some non-Dell ram but not others. the only potential possible solution is when future bios version comes out, but no guarantee.

A Dell will typically clock down the RAM if it's faster than specs.
If RAM is being mixed - mfrs., speed, capacities, and especially volts, that can cause issue. At least if speed is different, and the RAM works, a Dell run it at the slowest speed of the slowest chip.
In your case with the Crucial RAM not working, and since it isn't completely within specs anyway, best bet is to return it since it's guaranteed to work. Find some RAM that is within specs.
I checked the Crucial site. This isn't the first time the RAM they recommend isn't within exact specs. A few years ago, when I emailed them about some wrong RAM on their website with proof from a Dell Tech Guide, they never changed it.

A safe bet? 4800MHz RAM as sold by Dell for 7000 MT: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/pfydresults/274763?categoryId=2999&sid=51
@redxps630 is right about the slightly slower speeds for the MT. Yet, the micro has 4800MHz specified.

this and other discussion in community hopefully might reach Dell engineering eventually if enough users complain, but the only known person with some inside connection is the community manager.
Optiplex 7000 has about 40 users benchmark. these are validated ddr5 desktop model
7000 MT memory: DDR5
DDR5
7000 SFF memory: DDR4
Dual-channel, DDR4
3200 MHz
7000 Micro memory: sodimm DDR4/DDR5
DDR4/DDR5

The hidden forum is a good place to escalate things, especially when there's certain trends.

Some people do use it successfully, but careful about KVR (Kingston Value RAM). It has caused problems in Dell's. Seems to be hit or miss sometimes. Regular Kingston RAM is ok.

Are these all modules that work with the Dell 7000MT or how do I tell? The columns to the far right are blank boxes to me, I don't see any kind of graphic if there's supposed to be one.
Thanks,
