I stumbled upon this language in the R250 technical guide under the processor section. Can someone help explain this footnote? I would like to use the GPU for transcoding and other media conversion.

Graphics is not supported with E2300 series processors and cannot be enabled on Dell servers due to restriction in the chipset.

Would the same apply to the Pentium processors?

Hi @vitospaghetti,

Some E2300 processor have GPU processor that are built in, in which some users would like to use the inbuilt GPU, will not be able to enable it. PowerEdge do not support Pentium processors.

Here is where I found the reference/note -- page 14. It also says the G6505 and G6405T processors are supported by the R250 and they are Pentiums.

It looks like the Pentium graphics would be supported. It is only the E2300 series called out as not supported.
