E525W printing gray not black when printing labels

Dell E525w Color Multifunction Printer

The print/copy quality on my E525w printer:  black prints gray when printing labels.   I installed the black ink cartridge about 6 weeks ago. 

Does anyone have a solution?

Update- Resolved-

Stir the developer in the drum cartridge.

 

  1. Press the 
     

     

     

     (Menu) button and select Admin Settings > Maintenance > Clean Developer.
  2. After you stir the developer in the drum cartridge, press the 
     

     

     

     (Menu) button.
  3. Select Report/List > Demo Page.

The output is too light

The toner cartridge may be low or need to be replaced. Confirm the amount of toner left in the toner cartridge.

 

  1. Check the toner level in the Status tab in the Status Monitor.
  2. Replace the toner cartridge as necessary.

If you are using non-Dell brand toner cartridge, enable the Non-Dell Toner option.

 

  1. Launch the Tool Box, and click Maintenance on the Printer Maintenance tab.
  2. Ensure that the On check box under Non-Dell Toner is selected.

Disable the Toner Saver in the printer driver.

 

  1. On the Others tab, ensure that Off is selected in the Toner Saver drop-down menu.

The print media surface may be uneven. Try changing the Paper Type setting in the printer driver. For example, change the plain paper to thick.

 

  1. On the General tab, change the Paper Type setting.

     (Menu) button and select Admin Settings > Maintenance > Clean Developer.
  2. After you stir the developer in the drum cartridge, press the DELLJesseL_1-1664208897935.jpeg

     

     (Menu) button.
  3. Select Report/List > Demo Page.

Clean the toner in the drum cartridge.

 

  1. Press the DELLJesseL_2-1664208897936.jpeg

     

     (Menu) button and select Admin Settings > Maintenance > Toner Refresh.

     

    NOTE: Toner Refresh feature uses the toner, and shorten the life of the toner cartridge and the drum cartridge.

     

  2. After you refresh the toner in the drum cartridge, press the DELLJesseL_3-1664208897937.jpeg

     

     (Menu) button.
  3. Select Report/List > Demo Page. The demo page is printed.

Replace the drum cartridge.

 

  1. Replace the drum cartridge.
  2. After you replace the drum cartridge, press the DELLJesseL_4-1664208897937.jpeg

     

     (Menu) button.
