I was recently on the support website and I entered my Desktop model number. It showed recommended Drivers to install. Will my cd rom driver appear if I install the recommended update. Thanks

Hi Rdelgado1,
Probably not. Try this.
Go to device manager. Select the option to show hidden devices. Select and uninstall any DVD drives and all IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. Reboot and everything should reinstall.

Thanks,
I was able to solve my problem.
I had the same problem. I could see the drive in the BIOS but not when it booted to Windows 10. I tried everything I was reading online to fix this intermittent problem and then I figured it out myself. I was in the device manager looking at the AHCI controller for the drives. I told it to search automatically for an updated driver and was told the best driver was already installed. It was an Intel driver but not specifically for the chipset. This time I ran the update driver on the controller and choose the “Let me pick” option. I could see that there was a driver that matched my chipset. After installing that driver I have never had the drive fail to be seen by Windows again
I'm having the same issue hope you're still here since this maybe an old article but really could use your help
