Replacement Hard Drive

Hi,

I purchased a new OptiPlex 760 not quite a year ago.  The hard drive it came with was listed on my order as Dell Part # 341-8008 ("320 GB SATA 3.0 Gb/s and 8 MB Data Burst Cache, Dell OptiPlex").

If possible, I would like to purchase this same exact drive to use as a spare.  I plan on using drive imaging software to copy an image of the working drive to this new drive.

I can't seem to find this part number on the Dell website.  Can anyone tell me where I can purchase this drive?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

For the exact model number, see the label on the drive - however, any 320G SATA desktop drive will work.

The hard drive that came with your computer is likely to be made by Seagate. If you watch the BIOS POST messages while your computer is starting up (before the Windows loading screen arrives), you might be able to catch the hard drive model number, and a Google search will likely reveal the manfacturer. Or you could always open the case and physically inspect the drive.

However, as mentioned, any desktop HDD would work.
