Toshiba 1tb usb 3.0 portable drive not recognised
Can anyone help with this issue, i have Vostro 3750 and 17R laptops, both new, and neither will recognise a Toshiba 1tb usb 3.0 portable drive.
The laptops fail to install drivers and won't even read using the USB2 ports, although the same drive works fine on a Dell desktop computer that doesn't have USB 3.0, i'm a bit confused by this as it now points to an issue with the laptops and not the drive or it's cable.
Any clues anyone?

Hi Kaztomian,
This problem is nearly always due to insufficient power. That's why it works on your desktop but not the laptops. The drive manufacturers support site will tell you the same thing.
Try one of those USB splitter cables that allows you to connect the drive to two USB ports.
