MBAM Question

I am considering getting a rehabbed Dell desktop pretty soon, the little backup computer I have now runs very slowly when browsing in Firefox...seems like both programs are memory hogs...or it might be something else. I assume the rehabbed computer will have Windows 11 which I believe comes with Edge, and I could dispense with Firefox. Will MBAM live happily with Edge, or does anyone have that combination. Any advice much appreciated

Regardless of what browser might come pre-installed on your new system (possibly EDGE), you can always download additional browsers of your choice (Firefox, if that's what you want).   MBAM works fine with Edge and Firefox (I'm using Win10), I assume it should do the same on Win11.

Hi dalem29,

I'm not sure if you are referring to MBAM Free or Premium or the free add-on Malwarebytes browser extension.

All my computers are running the latest version of 11 Pro. I have alternate browsers installed, but rarely use them because Edge is very fast and meets my needs. MBAM Premium is my main security app along with its free browser extension.

Malwarebytes Premium includes an anti-virus these days, so by default it disables the Windows 11 Security component.

*If you are install MBAM Premium be sure to check your settings if you want to continue using Windows Security. (Navigate/open Malwarebytes. Click the Malwarebytes Settings cog. Go to the Security tab, and uncheck the Windows Security Center setting.)

* If you opt to use Malwarebytes Free on demand, Windows will keep its resident AV running.
