SK Hynix memories for Vostro 7620

Hello.

Need help for memory upgrade (from 8 Gb to 16 Gb, in Vostro 7620). I see that there're two SK Hynix memories (16 Gb) that should be compatible with Vostro 7620: HMCG78MEBSA092N and HMCG78AEBSA095N. Are they really compatible? Which one would be the best for this laptop, and why?

Thanks.

I don't know the differences. I looked at the first one, the one you ordered, and it appears compatible.

You could try the one that you were sent, provided the seller will accept a return and give you a refund if it doesn't work.

If you want to be certain, buy the Crucial RAM that I suggested and linked, as it is guaranteed to work.

Hynix HMCG78MEBSA092N  should work.

Also, here are Crucial RAM upgrades that are guaranteed compatible with your 7620.

Whenever touching components or working inside a computer, wear a grounded wrist strap, also called anti-static wrist strap, ESD wrist strap, or ground bracelet. It's a cheap and sensible precaution. Rest the laptop on an anti-static mat or at least a reasonable alternative such as corrugated cardboard.

filbert,
Thanks for your answer.

What about the HMCG78AEBSA095N? Let me explain better my "drama". I could have bought a memory from a different brand, but I ended up opting for SK Hynix because my Vostro 7620 came with a memory from this brand (8Gb though, as you know). So, I did purchase the HMCG78MEBSA092N, however, the seller sent me the HMCG78AEBSA095N. I haven't tested it yet, and I haven't decided whether I'll return it or not. It'd depend on its differences to the HMCG78MEBSA092N.
The main difference I could find refers to the PMIC, but I confess I'm not sure what to do with this info.

HMCG78MEBSA092N
Generation: 1st (M)
PMIC Vendor: Renesas(IDT) 5100
PMIC Rev: B0
DRAM Date Code: 2127

HMCG78AEBSA095N
Generation: 2nd (A)
PMIC Vendor: MPS 5100
PMIC Rev: R1
DRAM Date Code: 2224

Again, not sure what they mean in practice.
I also wonder about the clock rate linked to the HMCG78AEBSA095N. There's a site suggesting 2400 Mhz, but my impression is that it should be higher (?). Or perhaps the site is wrong (?). I could not find this info in any other place.

I'd appreciate your help.
