Laptop screen dims on idle but doesn't brighten on activity.
We have a number of new Dell precision 3561's all running Win10.
When using the laptop on its own, if you leave the laptop idle, the screen auto dims. This is fine, almost every laptop does this.
When you start to use the laptop again, the screen doesn't brighten up automatically. You have to press the brightness keys, but if the screen is then set to full brightness you need to press the dim button to get the brightness back.
Does anyone know how to resolve this one of MANY problems we're having with these devices, before we upgrade back to our 4 year old Lenovo laptops.

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

Sorry for not checking back.
We have 30 of these laptops in our department. All brand new (purchased within the last few months). ALL show exactly the same symptoms.
All running win10 20h2, and all up to date with drivers.

Install Intel Graphic Command center from Windows store.
Disabled Power saving tech in it.

When the physical brightness controls buttons (for the monitors) are used, there is something happening that fights the use of these buttons (i.e. as the brightness is increased, the levels keep going back down as the brightness is turned up. Eventually the monitor returns to it's darkest state on its own, then it will sometimes begin to brighten again

Hi,
We want to make sure your system is working fine and hence following up. Having said that, we do not want to disturb you with numerous messages. We will wait to hear from you to continue the conversation.

Are you using these Precision 3561 on battery only? With external monitors?

Disabling power saving isn't a solution unfortunately. Fixing the issue to work the same as every other laptop on the market is.

NO.
The laptop is on its own. And because the battery life is shockingly low, I have it plugged in most of the time.

Windows 10 comes with a feature called adaptive brightness that automatically adjusts the brightness of your display. If this option is enabled, and the surrounding environment changes, Windows automatically dims your screen. In this case, turn the adaptive brightness feature off and see if your issue gets resolved
Hope this helps

Check in BIOS if issue remains, update all SA drivers to see if that will resolve the issue.
