XPS 8940 into another case?

Hi, I am wondering if I could transplant all or most parts from a Dell XPS 8940 into another pc case with better airflow? I know I will probably need a new PSU. Thanks

Case swap has some drawbacks. 8940 board is not rectangular.  You will lose all original front IO USB and audio ports.  Note that board does not have usb 3.0 header to allow you to plug in a front usb cable.

then the TFX psu does not fit most cases that have better air flow.  Although presumed 6 pin ATX + two 4 pin cpu pinout of 8940 is known, it has not yet been verified I and reported.

one redeeming feature is the 5 pin power button header on motherboard for which presumed pinout is known, and verification is risk free.

@redxps630

" 6 pin ATX " there is no such standard and never has been.

ATX (Advanced Technology eXtended) is a motherboard and power supply configuration specification developed by Intel in 1995 to improve on previous de facto standards like the XP/AT design.

The other specification routinely ignored is the EPS12v 80 percent efficient power spec along with the combined power spec for the 5v/3.3v rails.

By chance can you give me the fans you got in order to improve cooling?

For CPU

Noctua NH-U9S, Premium CPU Cooler with NF-A9 92mm Fan (Brown) for Desktop https://a.co/d/2xuZMpW

Rear fan replacement

Noctua NF-A9 PWM, 4-Pin Premium Cooling Fan (92mm, Brown) https://a.co/d/fMurmsn

The other ones with the rbg seem to be discontinued on Amazon but you can find other 80mm fans. Note that those RGB fans I added I couldn't get software for them so i controll them with the controller that came with them. You also have to purchase the mounting bracket on EBAY for about 10 bucks or so. Doesn't come with screws so you need some as well. I have all this laying around so it worked easily for me.

This keeps my PC at a temp no higher than 76-78 when running COD. Usually lower on all my other games.
