XPS 15 7590 Thunderbolt Firmware update fails

Hello.Screenshot 2021-01-20 185403.png

It repeatedly fails. I enter the BIOS password, it starts and says 100% down, but then "Firmware update failed" with details "Internal Error: Arguments".

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks in advance

Oliver

I had the same problem.

I solved it by downgrading the driver to version 1.41.987.0. I had to do it manually, as I could not overwrite the newer version I had installed.

After downgrading, the update installed without a hitch.

just to put a spanner in the works, just did the upgrade successfully without having to roll back the driver beforehand.

Hello Prajwal,

Sorry, did not see this. Nothing else needed, BCL67 solved the riddle. It was a forced downgrade of the driver by the way, not the firmware.

I could use the same help.  Brand new Inspirion 15 and updated all BIOS, drivers.  Dock NVM won't update from 00.00.16 to 00.00.27.  Everything else updates fine.  Why doesn't Dell fix this?  How can I make my issue work?

Same problem here, Precision 7720.

Just bought a new Dell S2722QC monitor, which won't I can't use over USB-C. Thought I'd update the thunderbolt drivers, but ran into this failure. I'm upgrading from v12 to v46, I thought it might be too big a leap in a single version but then someone here failed going from v44 to v46

Anyone from Dell ?

I'd love to use my new monitor via USB-C

How did you manually downgraded the driver ? I saw they dont allow the downgrade ?
