I was planning to add a new Samsung 980 pro 1tb which supports the PCI e4 interface. Is my laptop which is Dell XPS 9520, compatible with the PCI e4 or is it PCI e3?

The system supports PCIe 4X4 drives (and will also work with PCIe 3X4 as well).
