T320 and Plex Hardware Transcoding
Hi,
I'm new here and I purchased a T320 Tower Server for my homelab.
I successfully build up an entire domain using Hyper-V virtualisation.
I'm using primarily for Exchange, Fileserver, Home Automation and NVR. All is working fine since 3 years.
Now I want to run the Plex Media Server on a VM and need Hardware Transcoding.
So I want to add a grafics card or tesla, like the Nvidia Testla P100.
I don't want to disable the OnBoard Grafics, I only want to pass the Tesla completely to the VM.
Is there a way, that this is possible and what are the steps for that?
Aside from grafics cards that are NOT certified by DELL, i don't bother using certified hardware. It's enough, if it works.
Does grafic cards have specific requirement to use in the T320?
Do they need to be UEFI GOP capable? Do the need to have a DELL video BIOS?
Note:
I'm using Windows Server 2019 HyperV as host with 96GB DDR3-Reg-ECC.
Windows Server 2022 as guests.
iDRAC is downgraded to 2.30.30.30 because of fans ramping up to 100% if using non-Dell-Hardware.
