A few things to check:

1. System drivers could be out of date

2. Malware can cause this

3. Auto unlock key is active in BitLocker settings

So things to try:

1. Make sure all system drivers are up to date (check with Windows Update and on the Dell Support site)

2. Scan your system for malware and repair as necessary

3. Check BitLocker settings and disable Auto unlock key (Since user claims BitLocker never set up, this is unlikely, but still possible).

You should have a recovery key that was made when you enabled bitlocker. It can be stored in the following locations:

- USB device. If you saved the key to USB, try to locate that device.

- Microsoft account. Log into your Microsoft account and search for "bitlocker key". It will show your key in the search results.

- Printed out. Check your "important papers" and see if you printed out the key.

If you cannot find it you will have no other option that to reinstall the OS, but before you resort to that I would click the "get help now" icon on the right bottom of this page to chat with a Dell agent.
