MX7000 & Blades

Hello all,

We are looking at MX7000 for remote sites, starting with 2 compute blades and 1 storage blade.

We will be running ESXi on the compute blades.

Is there a way to share datastore like ISCSI, NFS, FC SAN etc from the storage blade?

without using VSAN?

Hello Auspexian2021,

I think you may be looking for Enclosure-Assigned mode:

In Enclosure-Assigned mode, all 16 drive slots are mapped together to the selected compute sled. In this mode, more than one compute sled can be mapped to the storage sled, which means the disks are visible to more than one compute node simultaneously.

Thank you, I'll look into it.

Using the Storage Blade for Datastore that can be seen on all the Compute Blade ESX would be easier,

than buying a powerstore separately.

Tks
