Host Integration Tools for Microsoft for Windows Server 2022

Hello,

Do you know if it is possible to install HIT on Windows Server 2022 ?

I have this error when I launch Setup64 "Error reading setup initialization".

Must I come back to Windows Server 2019 ? I was in 2016, I would like go directly in 2022.

Thanks for your return.

Hello,

Thank you for the update.  I would suggest caution in a production environment.   If you do have an issue support for that configuration will be more problematic.  I would suggesting doing some long term testing and use tools to verify data inegrity before using it in production.

  Regards,

Don

Thanks for your response.

Nop, this a node Hyper-V to build a cluster with 3 nodes.

I think I am going to have to build with Server 2019. I will go in 2022 later when Equallogic Team will release the new version for 2022.

Maybe a release date for Windows Server 2022.

Regards,

Christophe

Hello,

The last tested and supported version of HIT/ME v5.5 is Server 2019.  Trying to install it on 2022 would not be recommeneded.

What applications are running on that server?  SQL, Exchange, etc..

Is it a siingle member pool or multiple members?

The HIT kit is not 'required' but is a very useful tool.   Especially if running Exchange, SQL or Sharepoint.

Don

Hello Christophe,

You are very welcome.  There are no announced plans to support 2022 with the EQL product. It's no longer sold and the end of standard support is not too far away.  The active development of the product is over.   Post Standard Support is still availabe for some models, but that only covers failed hardware.

I would suggest you look into alternatives for long term SAN storage now.

Statying with 2019 would be recommended as it was tested with EQL.  You could likely manually configure MPIO to work in 2022, but if you have an issue getting support would be more problematic.

  Regards,

Don

Hello,

No.  Just the installer package.   There are registry entries that are added and in MPIO the Dell EQL vendor ID is added for MPIO to function.

Honestly, I want to try installing the HIT manually on 2022.

I think the operating principles between 2019 and 2022 are hardly different. And, I have some time to test.

How can I install it manually? Is it a package that we unzip?

Regards

Thanks. In fact, I had a problem with the package. It was bad. I got it again from Equallogic Support and  the installation on Windows Server 2022 was fine.

Iscsi connections work fine too.

Regards.
