IDPA 4400 Functionality After License Expiration

The licenses on both of my IDPA appliances will expire this month. I do not plan to renew the license as I will not be using the appliances for new backups. However, I would like to have the ability to restore data post-expiration.
Is this possible? What functionality will I have after the license expires?

Thank you so much!

Hi NicRo,

That is a good question and not one we see very often so I am looking into it for you.

Can you give us more details?

Normally the lic does not expire unless maybe you were using an Eval lic?

My team's guess so far is that you probably would NOT be able to use the system at all if it expires- at least I would not count on it.

Most customers planning to move off of IDPA get a new solution in place with new backups working first, so I would recommend that if you can.

But I understand you may have reasons to have access to the older backups (i.e Compliance).

Let us know if you still need help with this and I will try to get more info.

I reached out to my sales team and they confirmed we will be able to continue retrieving data from the IDPA after the license expires.

It is a paid license. We've been running the IDPA for a couple years. We decided to move to a different solution this year. Yes, the new one is up and running.

My plan is to move some of the backup sets with long retentions to the new system.

Thanks very much for your response.

Thanks for that update Nic.

I am not aware of normal IDPA licenses expiring so that is interesting.

We do get cases with SSL certificates expiring.

Hope all goes well with your migration.
