Has anyone upgraded Ubuntu pre-loaded Dell Precision 5560 w/ Nvidia A2000 to 22.04?
As far as I know, there are no 22.04 Dell specific repos for that model. Does anyone know if there are any Dell-specific hardware drivers that may cause issues if I simply upgrade?

OK, it turned out that the issues were mostly self-inflicted. I had installed pipewire on the 20.04 version using the PPA at https://launchpad.net/~pipewire-debian/+archive/ubuntu/pipewire-upstream
Since 22.04 has pipewire installed, but an older version, I had to purge the PPA to get the upgrade going. Once the upgrade was done, I re-added the pipewire PPA (and the accompanying wireplumber PPA), but sound was not working. I didn't think much of it, thinking that I would look into that later, and started chasing the performance problems. It turned out that the broken sound configuration was the culprit. Once I found the complete instructions for properly updating pipewire at https://trendoceans.com/enable-pipewire-and-disable-pulseaudio-in-ubuntu/ I got the sound back, and the performance issues are gone.

I don't think Dell provides technical assistance for Linux upgrades, even for laptops with Linux preloaded.

After private chat with Dell support that sounded encouraging about upgrading to 22.04, the upgrade has rendered the system almost unusable. Clicking to start an app takes about 30 seconds (except for some reason Chrome, which starts up only a second slower than before).
Has anyone successfully upgraded a pre-loaded Ubuntu 20.04 to 22.04 on a Precision 5560?
