OMIVV 5.4 , Idrac failed to download firmware

Hello,

OMIVV 5.4 are installed with a repository created from Dell DRM with a catalog.xml.

Repository are validated by OMIVV, network communication are already checked (Firewall, router, etc) between idrac and NFS Depot

When i try to use Lifecycle manager and create an image, all firmware, vib are validated, image ready and i try to remediate a cluster with.

Remediate start but failed because idrac can not reach NFS Depot with this error

RED016 Mount of remote share failed.
SYS254 Unable to transfer a file, Diagnostics_Application_4YC18_WN64_4301A66_4301.67_01.EXE, because of one or more of the following: 1) remote host cannot be reached. 2) remote share name is not present. 3) incorrect credentials are entered.

but when i try to update through idrac --> system update --> Manual Update and set the same NFS Depot ip and parameters with catalog.xml, Firmware are downloaded and installed without any problem.

it's a problem with OMIVV repository ?

NFS Depot : xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:/repo/nfs/dell/alldell_1.01_Catalog.xml are validated from OMIVV

Thanks for your help

Hello PICMaster,

Did you get to work with your technician on this on your case you have open? That would be your best direct support. They can log on with you in a remote session to get a look with you.

OMIVV has a readonly CLI interface.  On Vcenter, you  would need go to the OMIVV VM. At the log on prompt, instead of "admin" you would need to log in as "readonly". The password is the one that was setup when initially deploying OMIVV.

You can do a ping test, nslookup, and view some basic information. Since it is readonly, there are some limitations

A lot of the time, RED016 Mount of remote share failed,  is usually a firewall / network issue.

OMIVV creates a local NFS share and presents that to the DRAC.

So in this case, you need to ensure NFS ports are open from DRAC to OMIVV

Hi,

Are the following ports open? 137,138,139,445, 2049, 4433, 4001-4004. If that still doesn’t work you may need to call phone support.

Thanks for your help

But it's a very strange issue, try with CIFS and NFS on a Windows and Linux Server.

Always get RED016 Mount of remote share failed.

Hello PICMaster,

Did you get to work with the Dell technician on this?

I think this is the login you are asking about.

OpenManage Integration for Vmware vCenter  Version 5.4 Installation Guide :

https://dell.to/3KNxnB4

Pages 27-28

3. Log in as an administrator (the default user name is admin).

4. If you are logging in for the first time, follow the instructions on the screen to set the password (Admin and ReadOnly users).

NOTE: If you forget the administrator password, it cannot be recovered from the OpenManage Integration for VMware

vCenter appliance.

Thanks for your answer, but i need the "real" root password, i want to check log file on /var/log for example on the appliance

Is it possible to have this password ?

Because when i update firmware manually from the same NFS or CIFS source, all is working

I think of a mismatch command sent to idrac from OMIVV (\\ or /\/\ character error for unc path for example)
