ejn63 is correct. when speaking of adapter it is a nonspecific terminology which could refer to a physical hardware you need to install such as wireless card or the hardware inside a USB dongle, or the software you or Windows install such as the driver you mentioned. the cheapest and one of the easiest way to have wireless is Amazon usb dongle such as TP link cost $10-15. No need for manual driver install. Windows 10 automatically installs the driver immediately after you plug in the dongle and pc temporarily connected to internet via Ethernet.
