R750XS, Raid configuration completed. Sata setting: AHCI or Raid mode?

I have a R750xs server with 5 SAS hard drives. I have configured raid 10 for 4 drives and 1 host spare drive. But the default sata setting in bios is AHCI. Do we configure it as AHCI or switch to raid mode?

Hello,

The trick here is that if you have configured RAID via the S150 on the motherboard, you should select RAID mode. But on a hardware PERC card, such as the H740, then you can leave it as AHCI.

Because RAID mode enables the motherboard's RAID controller to manage the drives and create RAID arrays.

Hope that helps!

I have server model PowerEdge R750 Installed operating system is : DellEMC-VMware ESXi 7.0.2.Now problem with when i try to change the Embedded SATA AHCI to RAID Mode its showing saved success but not changed to RAID Mode.

Reason for change the mode my server have total 18 SSD storage disks i want to configure RAID  1 and RIAD 5.

While searching in google I got one Dell link here its showing H/W model not supporting RAID for ESXI and Ubuntu OS.  Can some one please help me on this issue.

Hello, thanks for choosing Dell.
In this situation, a PERC isn't what you need. You need a BOSS instead.
I recommed you use this.
