SIO rebuild & rebalance

Hi Experts,

I've been testing SIO's rebuild and rebalance functions recently.

I wana know, if i turned down one of sds service using "systemctl stop sds.service" on sds node.

How does rebuild work? Who will triger the rebuild work? & what is the signal flow like?

It confused me a lot, looking for your reply.

Thanks soooo much.

The MDM’s are constantly in sync and monitoring the SDS’s - so they will become aware that an SDS has stopped and will then instruct the others SDS’s having the secondary copies to promote them to primary copies, they will then in turn start creating new secondary copies of data amongst the remaining SDS’s. Finally, the MDM’s will also send a new metadata map to the SDC’s so that they will know where their data now lies on the system. This all happens in a split second, so there will be no interruption to any applications.
