Metro Witness

As of PowerStore version 3.6, you can add a witness server to metro protection to provide protection from single failure scenarios. The functional design of the witness adds more resiliency to new and existing Metro Volume deployments and further mitigates risk of split-brain situations. 

Requirements and considerations:

PowerStoreOS 3.6 or newer on all PowerStore clusters registered to the Metro Witness.

Only one Metro Witness instance per PowerStore cluster

Multiple PowerStore cluster can use a single Metro Witness

Registration in both participating PowerStore cluster for a metro volume

Witness must not be installed on a Metro Volume or one of the PowerStore clusters that it protects. Preferably, install it on a third site.

Metro Witness service is supported on Red Hat (RHEL 8.8) and SUSE (SLES 15SP5).
