Desktop LTO6 SAS drive?
Hey all -
We're in need of a standalone, desktop LTO6 SAS drive as a backup for our backups to be able to restore from tape, and I've found an old Dell LTO5-140 half-height tape drive enclosure. I was just wondering if that enclosure could accommodate a Dell TKC16 LTO6 tape drive before I purchase it? Seems like it's able to accommodate lots of tape drives, but I want to be sure before we drop a gazillion dollars on some of these things.

Hi,
I'm assuming you're referring TKC16 as the part number of the drive. If yes, it is for TL2000 or TL4000.

TKC16 is indeed the Dell part number of the drive, I am not looking at it's compatibility in a tape library (we already HAVE one in a PowerVault TL2000) - I am looking at it's compatibility within a "desktop", standalone, SAS LTO-6 enclosure - specifically something like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/144157763029
