Headphones with external speaker fix
Hi,
I have dell precision 5540. I want to use usb headphones for meetings and also a separate speaker connected in 3.5 mm jack. I want both the devices to be available available in audio controller same time so i can use external speaker as my secondary ringer for calls. Is it possible? Its possible if the speaker is connected via bluetooth but i want to know the above setup is possible..

You can setup to use the speakers connected through 3.5 mm jack and your USB headphones to playback at the same time.
First, open Sound output and verify that the speakers being selected in Choose Where to Play Sound.
Then, scroll down and select More Sound Settings. There should be a popup, select the Recording tab and look for Stereo Mix, right click on it and select Set as Default Device.
Next, double click on Stereo Mix to open its properties. From the new properties popup, select the Listen tab. Verify the Playback through this device is showing the speakers which connected through 3.5 mm jack, and the box Listen to this device is checked. Then, use the drop down of Playback through this device and select the USB headphones as the second audio device you want to hear audio from. Click on Apply and run some test to see how it works.
