Precision 7510 No clicking on any onboard mouse, track pad works. not software

Help! My precision all of sudden stopped clicking. on both track point and pad the clicking function does not work. The mouse is self does work, just no clicking. I've tried everything including a fresh OS install. nothing in BIOS or FN keys. What could have failed? moisture damage to just that part of the HID controller? can anyone shed some light no this for me!?

If the onboard mouse on your Precision 7510 laptop isn't clicking, and you've confirmed that it's not a software issue, you may need to troubleshoot the hardware itself. Here are some steps you can take to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:

1. **Check Physical Obstructions**: Ensure that there are no physical obstructions or debris preventing the onboard mouse buttons from clicking properly. Clean the area around the buttons with compressed air or a soft brush to remove any dirt or debris.

2. **Inspect for Damage**: Check for any visible damage to the onboard mouse buttons, such as cracks, dents, or signs of wear. If you notice any damage, it may indicate a hardware issue that requires repair or replacement.

3. **Restart Your Laptop**: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve hardware issues by resetting the system. Restart your Precision 7510 laptop and check if the onboard mouse buttons start working again.

4. **Update Drivers**: Even though you've confirmed it's not a software issue, it's still worth checking if there are any updates available for your laptop's drivers, including the mouse or touchpad drivers. Updating drivers can sometimes resolve hardware-related issues.

5. **Check BIOS Settings**: Access the BIOS settings of your laptop and verify if there are any options related to the onboard mouse or touchpad. Ensure that these settings are configured correctly and that the mouse buttons are not disabled.

6. **Test in Safe Mode**: Boot your laptop into Safe Mode and check if the onboard mouse buttons work properly in this mode. If they do, it could indicate that a third-party software or driver is causing the issue in normal mode.

7. **Hardware Diagnostics**: Run hardware diagnostics on your Precision 7510 laptop to check for any hardware failures. Dell laptops typically come with built-in diagnostics tools that can help identify hardware issues.

8. **Contact Support**: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there's a hardware fault with the onboard mouse buttons. Contact Dell technical support or consider taking your laptop to an authorized service center for further diagnosis and repair. Depending on your warranty status, Dell may be able to provide assistance or arrange for a repair or replacement.
