I am retiring some VNX5300s, and I also have some VNX2 arrays that are not 'fully loaded'. I know that the disks are largely interchangable between the two families, but I haven't found any documentation that suggests that either a controller swap, or an upgrade using the older DAEs is possible.

Hi all I have a customer with a VNX 5300 which is configured with 1 DPE and 2 DAE. DPE is equiped with 15x 300 GB disks, DAE 1 with 600 Disks and DAE 3 with 600 DB disks as well. BUT DAE 2 resp. its disks are not assigned yet. Now is it possible to expand Pool 1 which contains 15x 300 GB Disks

When I go to the VMware site to download the SRA for a VNX2 and SRM v6.1, (titled EMC VNX SRA with VNX Replicator Enabler) all that is in the kit is the install for the SRA itself. The enabler is not in the zip file. The title of the download implies that the VNX enabler should be in the kit.

I know in the past with CX it would just alternate between A and B if you asked for 10 luns, so it was evenly distributed. Partner is telling me this isn't the case with VNX. Can someone elaborate? Pointing to documentation would help greatly as well. Thanks, Andrew
