Hard drive failure?

Hi there! I was in my basement, and I found my parents old Dell Dimension 3000. I plugged it in, and it started beep 1-3-2. I removed a ram module and it stopped beeping, but the lights are at YGGY. yellow a, green b and c, yellow d. Can someone please help me? I’m trying to back it up. Thanks!

YGGY indicates a possible hard drive or floppy disk failure. Re-seat all power and data cables and restart the computer.

If the problem still persists, try clearing the CMOS by turning off and unplugging the power cord from the wall, removing the CR3032 coin cell battery, and waiting for 2 minutes before reinserting the battery and reconnecting the power cable.

If you just want to retrieve personal files from the hard drive, you can purchase an IDE-to-USB adapter and connect the drive to another computer. Access the contents much like you would with a USB flash drive.

Thanks for your help, and I did what you told me to do, but it still had the same lights on. After about a minute, the diagnostic lights became GGGY. If it dosen’t work, ehh I’ll buy that adapter.
