Poweredge r730

My dell poweredge r730 is working on esxi VM and my operating system is working on virtual machine which configured with raid 1 . Out two of my hdd one got faulty, how should i change the hdd so that my virtual machine and operating system (linux) survive. It is the case that for every replacement i have make my server again and again
