DellR710 No system services
Hello,
I started having an issue with a this Dell server after installing a new/used idrac card. I did replace both of the cards. The old cards wre not bad I was just testing the new cards. Either way, after installing the cards and starting the server, I was met with all fans on high speed. When booting, the F10 choice read "System services disabled". I could select the other choices. When it reached the idrac check it failed stating "idrac comm failed" it them rebooted system. It now seems to be in an endless loop doing the same thing. One time I was enable to enter setup but that was no help as upon reboot I was back to the loop. Here is what I have tried so far:
Reset nvram multiple times
ran system with another idrac and enterprise card
ran system with no enterprise or idrac card.
In addition, I get no display on the led readout. You folks know of anything else that I can try before I replace the MB?

@DELL-Young E I could try that but unfortunately I cannot get into idrac. There is no ctrl E option available to me now that I am having this issue.
I will give a followup as to where I am at:
It turns out that the system in not in a boot loop. The system is double booting. If I power the system down and start a boot sequence, it will come up with an idrac error and then reboot itself. When it boots the second time , i still get the idrac comm error but I can get into the F2 menu. I can also boot to a windows configuration. I was able to update the bios to 6.6.0. I am trying to figure out a way to recover the idrac now.

Im also still having the system services not available, fans on high speed, and the led display inop.
If I figure it out, I will post the fix here but as of now I stilll need advice.

@Dell -Charles R Well dang! I started pulling cards out and found my issue. It was kind of self induced I guess. I noticed that the idrac express card was not quite seated. As a matter of fact, I could not get it to seat properly with the plastic cover on it. I had to remove the cover to get it to seat. I have removed and replaced the card at least 5 times during this issue. After I removed the plastic cover, I reinstalled the card without it. The server POSTed perfectly...thanks to all you folks that helped me out but if the suggestion to remove all the cards were not made I dont know if I would have noticed the issue. I am really not sure if there is an issue with the cover or it is just me...thanks again!
