5179 Keyboard K12M Battery wont charge

I have just purchased this and the keyboard battery wont charge , it seems to be a known problem as their is a lot of details on the issue, i have tried all the possible solutions but none of them work for me ,how do i get it back to dell so they can force a charge on it to get it up to 3% charge and then it should start charging as supposedly the reason it wont charge is the charge level has fallen below 3% thus resulting in a standard charger not picking it up
