Cannot seem to add USB as boot option Venue 8 Pro 5830

Hi,

I found many posts about booting from a USB stick and having to have a properly formatted.  I have a stick ready to go with Windows 10 32-bit that can be seen from from within Windows 8.1 but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to add boot from USB as an option.  I tried MSFT's tool and also one created with Rufus.

When I get into the BIOS, and move to "Boot" and selecting the "File Browser Add Boot Option" I see what seem to be "C" drive partitions but not option to add "USB":

Within these "choices" I see what seems like files on the partitions:

... but never a choice to add USB to the list.

I have the latest BIOS A16 installed.

Any guidance is appreciated.

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

I am happy to report that I figured it out.

Under the Advanced menu in the BIOS, I set the XHCI-Controller to Disabled and then the USB memory stick could be seen at boot time.

It was confusing since under Windows 8.1, when I had a USB hub with a keyboard, mouse and USB memory stick plugged in, all devices worked fine with XHCI Controller dry to Enabled in the BIOS.  At boot time however - despite the mouse and keyboard working, the USB memory stick could not be seen.

Once my USB memory stick could be seen I was able to install Windows 10 Pro (32-bit), update all the drivers, windows patches and install Norton Antivirus on one full battery charge.  As other reported, the OS came up fully activated.

This is still an awesome tablet and it runs my VCDS software!   Battery life is pretty good.

All for now,

This device was never under warranty since it has been in my posession.  But I figured out how to get it to see my USB memory stick at boot time and now enjoying Windows 10 on this nice tablet!
