Venue 8 Pro "Freezes" when it goes to sleep

i recently updated from 8.1 to Win 10. Now whenever it enters sleep mode it looks like it freezes.  If I push the home button, or the power button, the screen backlight seems to come on but nothing is displayed.  The same thing happens regardless of how it is put to sleep:  button push, time out to sleep, or select sleep in shutdown menu.

The remedy to bring it back awake is to hold power button for 10 sec until it forces a shutdown.  Then push the power button to turn on the computer. All is normal until such time as it goes into sleep mode.

Any suggestions?

FIXED:   Using the tablet, I navigated to Dell.com/support.  I let it detect my servtag.  The site downloaded and installed on my tablet Dell System Detect.  When that ran it said there was a chipset driver and BiOS available.  I allowed it to download and install both drivers.  The chipset was installed first, then the BIOS (A14).   All went well and now my tablet seems to work completely fine.

JV6,

Did you reinstall all the Windows 10 drivers for your tablet once you upgraded? Also, we have 3 different Venue 8 pro Tablets. Can you provide the information on which model number you have?

Yes...mine is a Venue8 mod 5830.    No...I have not reinstalled any drivers.  Which one do you think is most important to check?

I have been playing with changes to the power plans.  As yet the sleep mode does not seem to operate the way it should.  I'm wondering about disabling the sleep mode?

JV6,

You should install all of them if possible.

Dell 5830 Drivers, Downloads and Manuals

Thanks Jesse, but when I go to the Dell downloads I find a few drivers that are older than what is on the computer.  For instance, the microphone and speaker drivers that were dated 8/21/13 have been replaced in Win 10 by ones dated 7/15/16.  The "new" ones on Dell are older than that.   The chipset driver description only refer to windows 8.1 so I am worried about a replacement driver that  might cause future problems.

One package that might be good is the Bios.   The current version is A14.  My DV8P is using A01. My other DV8P seems to be running fine with A13 so I may do this upgrade.

It's difficult to tell on the Download site what use.  Many of the items are not really drivers, but are apps, systems management programs etc.  Most item descriptions only reference win 8.1 while a few to mention applicability to Win 10.

What to do??

Finally, my gut tells me that sleep function malfunction has something to do with the way the settings were handled in the Win 10 upgrade.  It worked okay in the Win 8 set.  But I will keep trying.
