Hard power off scenario (thankfully theoretical) ?
Hi
Has anyone here suffered from a whole cluster losing power (UPS failure etc etc?)
Dell didn't allow us to test this during the build and I was just wondering how a 4 node all flash cluster would cope with such an event. I guess there's customers out there with very dodgy power infra, so this kind of event wouldn't be unheard of.

We had this happen last year when a substation caught fire and the UPSes both went down before I could do a graceful shutdown. Came back up fine a day later. Keep in mind we have a BDC that runs outside the VxRails, specifically to provide DNS and other services, and I made sure it was up before I powered on the hosts.

Thanks for the feedback, that's good to know. We are having work done on our old UPS in the coming weeks and I'm feeling a little twitchy.

Happen to me very frequently. i have 3Nodes clusters on many Vessels, so power failure is very often.
if you do not have external DNS or PDC etc. play with host files on vCenter and ESXi host.
