Mount disk drive to another VM
For some reason we need to test mounting of disk to another VM for data recovery reasons.
How can i mount a disk from VM server A to VM server B?
How do i identify which VM folder to select as the highlighted portion is very hard to decipher

Are the servers in a cluster or are they stand alone? Which VxRail models do you have?

the VMs are all standalone in the VxRail system. VxRail model is P570F.

Hello yeowkm99,
In a vxrail node, in most cases a vm is spread across multiple drives. Trying to mount a single drive or multiple drives to a different server can cause data unavailable issues to come up. It is best for recovery to either replicate the data to different location for recovery or use backup software to do so.

i tested one of the drive from Server B (recovered disk) back to Server A.
But i saw this error

Hello yeowkm99,
That error is stating that all the data is not on the drive, and that it needs other drives to complete the stripe so that the data can be read. This is what I stated in my last post is that not all the data is written to a single drive. The data is spread across multiple drives just in case a sing drive failure happens.
