XPS 8950, PSU fan rattling
One of the fans in my PSU is making an awful rattling sound. I feel like the PSU needs to be replaced, but I cannot seem to communicate this to the tech support rep. He keeps telling me he's going to send me a new CPU fan. What am I supposed to do with this? He doesn't seem to understand what a power supply is. Does anyone know how I can communicate to Dell that I need a new power supply?

Old post, I know, but did the new PSU solve the rattling noise?
If so what were the brands of the defective and replacement PSUs?
The reason I resurrect this thread is that I have a slightly newer model XPS8960, which I've had about 6 weeks and from new the PSU has an intermittent, metallic "rattle".
Maybe not entirely the same, but I feel that if it's making these noises from new, it will only get worse and want to have it rectified ASAP while under warranty
