Dell update vs Dell Command Update

my XPS13 (9343) installed the follow tools in win8:

Dell update 1.7.1007.0 vs Dell Command Update v2.1

Are they the same function and should only keep one of them??

Please advice.

JoePGM,

The Dell Command |This package provides the Dell Command | Update Application and is supported on OptiPlex, Tablet, Precision , XPS Notebook and Latitude models that are running the following Windows Operating Systems: Vista (32/64-bit), Windows 7 (32/64-bit), Windows 8 (32/64-bit), Windows 8.1 (32/64-bit) and Windows XP.

What is Dell Update?

Dell Update is a software program designed to update Dell PC software included with the user's PC.
It probably best to keep the Dell Update.

I agree with JoePGM. That answer did not address Joe's question, and the grammar was messed up.

I agree, not really an answer.  Also, why are the options in Dell Command Update disabled when installed on an inspiron laptop?   Conversely, why does Dell Update not include an options/settings icon?

Does dell assume inspiron users are stupid?
