Dell SSD not detected by computer.
I recently purchased and installed a dell 256 gb ata ssd.
Upon being installed in my pc (desktop) my computer will not detect it. either in hard drives or device manager. A friend and I checked multiple times that it was installed correctly, sata cables plugged in etc. and Nothing. I'd like to be able to use this if anyone has suggestions for getting my pc to detect it.
Running windows 10.
SSD: Manufacturer Part# : SNP2F5G2/256G
Dell Part# : A9137815
attempted to copy/paste link to specific harddrive below but unsure if it worked.

I have same problem and have run all the troubleshooting steps listed. My old HP reads all of my external SSD's fine and my Dell did until earlier this month.
Years ago I had the same problem but never saved the fix.
Any help appreciated.

When I installed an additional SSHD on my laptop, it wouldn't recognize it until i formatted the drive.

Pretty standard to have to format the drive to be able to use it, but you have to be able to see it to format it. My computer won't show the new SSD in Disk Management so I'm unable to format. This seems to be a pretty prevalent issue with Dell owners.

I am having the same issue. I wanted to upgrade my HD in my Dell Inspiron 15 with a Intel SSD. However the BIOS on the Dell laptop says the SSD has 0 bytes. The SSD works fine in my tower computer (non Dell), and I did format the SSD and create a partition. But still it says 0 Bytes in BIOS. When I try a fresh load of windows 10, it fails due to 0 bytes on the SSD. The Dell laptop works on the original HD, it just is slow.

Thanks for the info, however, it did not help. The Intel SSD still says 0 gb available in The Dell BIOS.
I checked the SSD on another PC again and it shows good with a 1.5 Tb partition.

backup all data to another system. then connect ssd to your dell system and format the SSD to (NTFS) then restore data from machine to HDD then check.

IF the drive is not recognized within the DELL BIOS and you are sure the SSD is good, try this:
a) Disconnect power
b) Disassemble the bottom of Laptop to expose the Laptop components
c) Disconnect the Battery (Battery Removal is NOT necessary - just disconnect the Battery Cable)
d) Remove the COIN battery
e) Let the computer sit for at least 20-30 minutes
f) Re-insert the COIN battery
g) Reconnect the Battery Cable
h) reseat the drive
Try to power up to BIOS and see if the drive is now being shown...
