1. Hardware diagnostics - ePSA

  • Test all hardware components
  • Available on servers since PowerEdge server generation 11 (except T110)
  • Available as a feature of a life cycle controller
  • A reboot is required
  • The results cannot be saved

 

Note: Hardware diagnostics for generation 12 and 13 servers always tests all components of the server first.

2. Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool

  • Available as a third-party tool
  • Measures CPU performance
  • Works on Windows without rebooting the system
  • The results can be saved

Note: The Intel processor diagnostic tool is not valid for Intel Xeon Gold 5318Y and Silver 4310 and 4314 and Bronze 3206R on 15G servers.
Note: The Intel processor diagnostic tool is not valid for Intel Xeon Platinum 8480 and Silver 4316 and 4310T on 16G servers.
Note: The Intel processor diagnostic tool is not valid for Intel Platinum 8488C and 8472C and Gold 6454Y and Silver 4316 and 4314 on 17G servers.
Note: If these tools have been used to diagnose the cause of the issue, a report is typically displayed that can be saved for analysis. Note down where the report was saved.
