INTEL ICH9 family USB Universal Host controller 2935

Original post translation:  On an old DELL STUDIO 1745 I had upgraded to WINDOWS 10. Because of the resulting great slowness, I tried reinstalling the same OS from scratch. Everything works, maybe a little faster but the mouse is no longer managed. The mouse does not work on any USb port but works on other PCs. Changing the mouse the result is the same. Trying to reinstall the drive I have the title report.

Can anyone help me find and install the driver that seems to be missing,

Alternatively I would like to reinstall WINDOWS 7. but I don't know how to do it.

Thanks for suggestions,

Contributor response:  After a clean Windows 10 installation, you can try to install these drivers:

Chipset driver.

AHCI storage driver

Network driver.

Intel video or AMD video driver.

Then, select to run Windows updates to get all update patches and the remaining drivers.  After all updates are complete, go to Device Manager and check for any error driver or unknown device.  Post them here for further assistance (do not post any private information).

While there is process for Win 7 reinstallation, it is no longer support from MS for updates and security patches.

@stesicoro , the slowness can be improve by running the operating system on a solid state drive.  What is your current storage setup?  Just reread and saw that you already used patriot burst SSD.  Download and run Crystal Disk Info to see drive health.  Download and run Crystal Disk Mark to see performance.  Increase memory if the system specs is allowed.  Refer to User Manual when working inside the machine.

All drivers are Windows 7 drivers from Dell as there is no Win 10 available.  However, only the first driver, chipset driver is needed.  When Windows 10 is able to identify the hardware chipset (including the INF of components) it will provide the remaining drivers as suggested from the first reply.  So, run the Windows updates and installing every drivers it provides.  Here is all Windows drivers for your system, change the operating system to Win 7 64-bit driver before download.

The test result and available spare space are good.  Should not get any sluggish with read/write performance.  After installing all update patches and drivers offered from Windows, check Device Manager for any driver issue and post it here for further troubleshooting.

After all, this is a repurpose to extend the life of an aging system.  Only so much you can do.

@Chino de Oro

Hi, may thanks. I followed strictly your suggestions and it is now working ok.

The only great issue I am still having is due to the fact that the PC is enormously LOW. I applied all the suggestions given by  Microsoft Window site related to this issue but it did not improved.

The configuration is:

Pentium Dual Core CPU T4300 2,1 GHz

RAM 4.0 GB

SSD Disk Patriot Burst 250 GB

Windows 10 Home, V22H2

Build 19045.3448

Windows 10 has been updated

Could you provide any suggestion to improve its speed?

Once more thank you

Hi,  I forgot to add to my reply that the network driver you reccomended was not installable, having got this message when I tried to install it:

" Realtek 8136 8168 8169 Ethernet driver - Installed Wizard : THIS VERSION A IS FOR WINDOWS VISTA ONLY.

I do not know if this may cause any problem, including the low speed.

Thanks

Hi, I checked Device Manager. All is OK.

I am trying just to extend to the maximum life  of this PC. It is just a matter of  having difficulties to throw it away - Of course I am using more modern PCs nowdays but, this DELL  has been a particular "fellow" to me for several years  .

At the end, I believe that, thanks to your help, I did all it was possible . Should you confirm it, I will keep it fo random usage and as a souvenir of the past.

Once more many thanks for your help and for the time you spent
