Symptoms

Load Tapes Into the Dell™ PowerVault™ 120T DLT Autoloader

  1. Open the tape storage drive bay door.

  2. Press the green POWER button on the Operator Panel to power on the PowerVault 120T Autoloader.
    Watch for LdR_REAdY to be displayed on the first line of the LCD to ensure that the system is fully powered up and ready to be used.

  3. Place DLT tape cartridges in slots one (1) and two (2).

  4. Press the MODE button until LOAd_SLOT appears on the LCD panel.

  5. Press the SELECT button to select the tape in slot 1 to be loaded into slot 6.
    SRC_SLOT_1 appears on the LCD screen.

  6. Press the SELECT button to move the tape from slot 1 to slot 6.

  7. Press the MODE button until LOAd_SLOT appears on the LCD panel.

  8. Press the SELECT button to select the tape in slot 2 to be loaded into slot 7.
    SRC_SLOT_2 appears on the LCD screen.

  9. Press the SELECT button to move the tape from slot 2 to slot 7.

  10. Place DLT tape cartridges in slots 1 through 5.
    Verify that the LCD panel displays that the tapes from slots 1 through 7 are present, and LdR_REAdY appears on the LCD panel.

The drive is loaded and ready for use.

  If you attempt to eject slot 6 while there is a tape in slot 1, or, slot 7 while there is a tape in slot 2, the LCD will flash RESELECT. These tapes cannot be ejected due to the fact that the tapes in the front of the drive are blocking access to the slots.
