Fixes & Enhancements
- Fixed the issue where the Solid State Drive (SSD) with Link power management (LPM) feature does not respond for 30 seconds. This issue occurs when the systems restarts.
Dell Technologies recommends applying this update during your next scheduled update cycle. The update contains changes to maintain overall system health. It ensures that the system software remains current and compatible with other system modules (firmware, BIOS, drivers, and software) and may include other new features.
It is recommended that you back up your data before performing this update. Do not interrupt your system during the firmware upgrade process. If the firmware upgrade process is interrupted, the solid-state drive may not function properly.
Note: It is recommended to back up the data in the computer and close all open applications. It is also recommended that you connect the power cable to the computer and disconnect all external storage devices.
Procedure 1. Run the utility to start the firmware update process. 2. On the first screen, if the target SSD is not listed, select it and then click Update. The next screen is a warning message. It states the risks and reminds user to back up important files before proceeding. 3. Click OK to proceed. Firmware upgrade proceeds. When the firmware upgrade process completes, you are prompted to reboot the system. 4. Close all open applications, and save your work before rebooting the system. The system reboots and loads the firmware. Once the firmware update is complete, a message saying the firmware update done is displayed. 5. Sign in to the operating system. 6. To confirm that the firmware update was successful, open Device manager > open SSD> click Properties> choose hardware ID under Details and check the firmware version.
