ASPI 4.6.0 Package for Windows applies to customers that are running an unsupported version of the ASPI driver. Dell does not support versions of ASPI higher than ASPI version 4.60. This update package will update a systems ASPI driver version at 4.7X to ASPI version 4.60.
This file format consists of an archive of files that may be decompressed to a directory on the hard drive. The installation can then be done from that directory.

Extract Files
1. Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file to unzip the download package.
2. Specify the location to unzip the files.
3. Click on the unzip button to extract files.

You can run aspiver.bat to check the ASPI driver version installed on your system.
To remove existing versions of the ASPI driver and install ASPI 4.6.0, do the following:
1. Open a command prompt and cd to the directory to which you unzipped the files.
2. To initiate the installation of the ASPI 4.6.0 driver, enter the following at the command prompt and press Enter:
inst-460.exe
Warning: Running this executable will remove any version of the ASPI driver currently on the system. Do not run the executable unless 4.6.0 is the only version of the ASPI driver you want on the system.
3. After the installation is complete, a message will display saying that your drivers have been updated successfully and to reboot your system. Rebooting your system is necessary for the new driver to take effect. Reboot your system when you receive this message.
4. Once your system has rebooted, you can use these following instructions to run aspiver.bat and verify the update completed successfully.
5. Open a command prompt and navigate to the directory where you unzipped the download package. The default location is c:\temp_aspi.
6. Click on the aspiver.bat executable. This script displays a pop-up message indicating the version of the ASPI components on the system. Verify the following components are at the same version:
ASPI32.sys and WNASPI32.dll
WOWPOST.exe and WINASPI.dll
