Dell OpenManage Server Administrator Managed Node, v.4.5, A00
Managed Node for Windows®, or OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA), is a comprehensive systems management tool for PowerEdgeTM servers. It provides easy-to-use management and administration of local and remote systems through a set of integrated maangement services. OMSA resides solely on the system being managed and is accessible both locally and remotely.
Services and Features:
* Instrumentation Service - provides rapid access to detailed fault and performance information
* Storage Management Service - provides enhanced features for configuring storage RAID and external SCSI enclosure information via the OpenManage Storage Services agent
* Diagnostic Service - provides a suite of programs that can diagnose problems on individual systems
* Logs - displays logs of commands issued to or by the system, monitored hardware events, POST events, and system alerts
If users are running OpenManage 4.3 or later on Windows® platforms, a Managed Node Service Pack is also available for updating to the latest version.

Description

Dell recommends the customer review specifics about the update to determine if it applies to your system. The update contains changes that impact only certain configurations, or provides new features that may/may not apply to your environment.
Important Information
*The Dell OpenManage Array Manager software has been replaced by Storage Management which is fully integrated into Dell OpenManage Server Administrator. Users will not be able to install the Dell OpenManage Array Manager Windows agent from the OpenManage 4.5 installation kit. The Array Manager Console and Netware Agent are still available from this CD but will not be available in future OpenManage releases. The integration of Storage Management into Dell OpenManage Server Administrator provides users with several benefits, including Red Hat Linux support, a fully-featured and scriptable CLI, and localization in all Dell OpenManage supported languages (French, German, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese).
*In order to manage and diagnose RAID devices, Dell OpenManage 4.5 requires that the latest RAID controller firmware and driver versions are installed on your system.
*Added service pack file (MSP) support for Windows upgrade from
version 4.3 and later. MSP files are much smaller in size and are available
from the Dell Support website at "support.dell.com."
*You must uninstall OpenManage software versions that are older than version 3.0 before installing this version.

Fixes & Enhancements
* Added support for Dell PowerEdge systems 830 and 850
* Added support for Demand Based Switching (DBS) using BIOS. BIOS setup using DBS is disabled by default.
* Added support for binding webserver to loopback adapter - Server Administrator allows you to configure your webserver to bind to the loopback adapter.
* Added processor multi-coresupport - You can view the number of cores in a socket.

Download
1.Click the “Download Now” link to download the file.
2.If the Export Compliance Disclaimer window appears, click the “I
agree” link to accept the agreement.
3.When the File Download window appears, click “Save” to save the file
to your hard drive.
Extract Files
1.Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click
to unzip the download package.
2.Specify the location to unzip the files (default is "C:\OpenManage").
3.Click on the Unzip button to extract the files.
Installation
1.Browse to the location where the files were unzipped.
2.Double-click the setup.exe file under the "windows" subdirectory and
follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: Consult the Dell OpenManage Installation and Security User's
Guide under the "docs" subfolder in the extracted location for
detailed installation instructions.
